Guess the Snowboarders
Two American snowboarders were arrested in New Zealand (where everyone and their mother involved in snowboarding is currently at) Saturday night and charged with possessing cannabis after being stopped for a random roadside breath test. The two were in possession of “not an insignificant amount” of the kind, meaning they had a buttload of some sweet ganja. Here’s where the story gets interesting: The names of the snowboarders weren’t released, but one was described as a Winter Olympics double medalist, and the younger man is reportedly trying to compete for a spot on the 2010 U.S. Winter Olympic snowboard team. Their ages: 26 and 21. Can you guess who they are? We have a pretty good idea.
One of the two has to be Danny Kass. Kass has two Olympic silver medals and, you guessed it, is 26 years old. Kass is known to be a booze hound among many things, so it doesn’t surprise us in the least bit that he would be caught with a ton of weed. Again, we’re only guessing here.
We would guess that the other has to be his dog on a leash; his “riding the coattails to fame” sidekick; his dingo. The Dingo to be precise. Alas, our research shows that The Dingo is 23 years old. Very surprised to find out that The Dingo wasn’t with Kass considering he holds his jock wherever he goes.
So who is the other snowboarder? There aren’t a whole lot of 21 year old pro snowboarders aspiring to make it to the 2010 U.S. Olympic snowboard team. We can rule Mason Aguirre out. “Ahhhh c’mon you know this kid is on the DL. I’m not even in New zealand so count me out my ninja,” said Aguirre, when we asked him if he was possibly one of the suspects. Kevin Pearce? Another one of our favorites, hope he had enough wits to not get busted. The consensus favorite seems to be Louie Vito, who happens to be in New Zealand, is 21 years of age, and has been known to hit the party circuit with Kass.
It’s worth noting also that in 2000, billionaire Peter Lewis was able to leave the country without conviction after donating over $50,000 to a charity after being caught with 23 grams.
