For riders who demand performance without compromise, the Fase Fast Entry System marks a major leap forward in snowboard binding design. Built to retain the precision, comfort, and responsiveness of traditional two-strap systems while eliminating the inconvenience of constant strapping in and out, Fase redefines what snowboarders can expect from their gear.
At first glance, Fase bindings may look familiar. But look closer and you’ll find three key components, the Autoback, Faststrap, and Locked-in toe strap, that streamline the strapping-in process and elevate the riding experience. The result? A fast, intuitive, and performance-driven design trusted by some of the biggest names in the sport.
At the heart of the system is the Autoback highback. When getting into Fase bindings, the highback hinges back to create a wider opening. As you slide your boot into the binding, a pressure-sensitive pedal inside the highback closes the Autoback automatically around your boot as you strap in. To get out, the highback hinges back while you unstrap, again creating that wider opening for your boot to move. The highback is on a hinge, so you can still fold it down while skating, on the chairlift, or for storage.
What makes this innovative design work seamlessly is the Autoback paired with the Faststrap ankle strap. The Faststrap looks like a conventional ankle strap, but features an extended ladder that stays connected so you can open the ankle strap wide to get your boots in and out without fidgeting with the ratchets.
To complete the system, Fase developed the Locked-In toe strap using a unique buckle and tri-toothed ladder to ensure the strap stays exactly where you set it. Once adjusted, the Locked-In strap holds its position session after session, giving you a consistent hold without needing adjustments mid-run.

Together, the Autoback, Faststrap, and Locked-In toe strap create a true one-handed entry whether you’re sitting, standing, or strapping in on the fly. But what sets Fase apart is the convenience without the compromise. The key features of the Fase system redesign the traditional strap system for a faster, more intuitive entry/exit without reducing the binding’s responsiveness, support, or performance. The Fase system doesn’t add weight or compromise board feel. On top of that, Fase is universally compatible to work with any snowboard boot, snowboard, and mounting system.
The Fase system is new for the 25/26 season, but it’s been put through the ringer for the last 7 years by top-level athletes including Jeremy Jones, Scott Stevens, Joe Sexton, Chris Bradshow, and many more. Last year you saw Ståle Sandbech take first in the Natural Selection Tour with Fase bindings as well as Victor de La Rue in the Freeride World Tour and Pat Fava in the X Games, all on Fase bindings.
The Fase Fast Entry System isn’t just a refinement of existing binding technology, it’s reimagining how we engage with our gear. Fase delivers a seamless experience by providing speed and simplicity without sacrificing feel, fit, and response we all look for in snowboard bindings. Backed by years of focused research, development, and real-world testing by some of the most accomplished riders, FASE has proven itself not just as a new option, but as a defining innovation in modern binding design.
The Fase system launched in collaboration with four of the most influential brands in snowboarding and you can find Rome and ThirtyTwo Fase bindings here at Snowboards.com.
